One of only two wood silos still surviving in Vernon County, this was one that I just happened upon in the middle of the night while returning from photographing “The Driftless Gem”. Seeing as I could photograph it from within 16 feet of the center line I took this opportunity to photograph it without asking the owner first. The cows in the field cooperated with uncommon aplomb. As it turns out, once I tracked down the owners of the silo to give them a print, they were friends of my parents that used to go have brunch with them after church when they were in town. Small world!
In my more than twenty-five years of being a commercial photographer I have seen images printed on almost every single substrate imaginable. And in that time I have never seen prints that look as stunning as these aluminum prints. They come alive in a way that I did not think possible. As one gallery owner I showed these to exclaimed, “It is like looking out a window!” They are truly unique in the way they shine when well lighted. So when you buy one of these prints, please make sure to light them generously!
